Mendocino County is the First County in the Nation to Ban Genetically Modified Crops and Animals
While this fits in the category of "old news", it is so important, that we are including it for those who new to the area or just passing through our glorious part of the world. Mendocino County set the templete for the nation by waging the historic Measure H campaign, which passed in March 2004, making Mendocino County the first in the U.S. to ban GMOs.

This book is an excellent, informative, “how-to” manual for anyone who wants to stop food companies from marketing junk foods, especially to children. The author exposes what food companies really mean when they say they market responsibly, and how they use trade, professional and, sometimes, government groups to protect sales and attack critics.
